The active response device "Keyboard" was not found on this system. "The following errors or warnings occurred while loading the experiment: The error window title bar is "Experiment Open Error/Warnings" The error occurs immediately on opening an existing experiment which normally has two response devices, keyboard and mouse. The keyboard and mouse I'm using with RD are obviously not directly attached to my work computer, but Windows 7 does recognize my keyboard/mouse for all other programs.Įven when I try to use Remote Desktop from another work computer located in the same room, I get the same error message, so it apparently has nothing to do with VPN.Īnyone have ideas on how to get the keyboard and mouse to be recognized when using Remote Desktop Connection and Presentation? My keyboard and mouse do work in all other applications (e.g., MS Word, Firefox, etc) and HID keyboard and mouse devices show up in Device Manager, so I'm not sure why Presentation is not detecting the keyboard and mouse. When launching Presentation applications on my work computer remotely from home using Remote Desktop (RD), I get Presentation error messages regarding keyboard and mouse devices not found. Other VPN solution exist out there, up to you to find one.Hi, I often log into my work computer from home using VPN and Windows 7 Remote Desktop Connection, and would like to work on Presentation programs from home on occasion (Presentation is licensed only on my work computer). I personaly use OpenVPN, which is free and fairly secured eventhough it is a bit tricky to setup but Google will help you set it up.

It doesn't need to be on the computer that hosts the game, it could be on another one, on your router, or a NAS or whattever equipement in your local network.

From there type in whether the computer name or the local IP address of the host computer. You can also launch it by running (Windows Key + R) mstsc.exe.

I would recommend resizing the game window to a lower resolution on the host computer before manipulating remotely. However if you remotely connect from a computer with a lower resolution it could mess up the game. I confirm, Remote Desktop Protocol works fine.
